It's alright Katie. You Foutz girls are just too practical. I figured that out when your mom and Jane didn't love it either. I must just live in too much of a Fantasy world - or am dying to escape mine!
I just feel bad that you can't enjoy it as much as I do - love it, love it, love it!
What? You don't have patience for a book that features a slightly annoying heroin with few redeeming qualities and an author who likes to describe her characters in the same way over and over and over again? Thats weird...
I have admittedly never tried to read these books, but I still can't figure out what the big deal is with them. What makes them so amazing? Vampires? I don't get it. For the record I don't like Harry Potter either (the books that is, I've seen the movies).
It doesn't surprise me at all that you couldn't finish it (I mostly kept reading because I like Edward :). The main chick is seriously annoying. It's definitely something I would have liked much more when I was about 12.
Do you ever read Orson Scott Card? He's my current fav.
Katie, I was waiting for you to finish the rest of that post. I was sure you were going to say that you gave it a second try and now you just love it! Its ok though, I forgive you.
I do not do vampires, werewolves and other weird sci-fi AT ALL! I don't even do Harry Potter, not the movies or the books. I walked out of Men in black, couldn't handle the nasty creatures! Sci-fi stuff is just weird to me and definitely not my thing! HOWEVER...I made it through all THREE books and I can honestly say they kept my attention and weren't too weird/bad! No I am not as obsessed as my friends, seriously they need help...BUT I did have a few "can't freaking put this book down" intense moments that I rather enjoyed...wish you could get through them all just to give a more honest opinion of them! I hope I can make it through the movie, that will be even worse and more weird. You should at least TRY to get through them katie...it's only fair to give us a better represented opinion...I'd love to hear what you think of them all. =)
Everyone loves what you guys are up too. This kind of clever work and reporting! Keep up the awesome works guys I've incorporated you guys to my personal blogroll. paypal.com login

ReplyDeleteI LOVE that you don't like the books either! I refuse to read them, but you already know how I feel about it all.
ReplyDeletePS- Kristin, my current English teacher is Orson Scott Card's sister-in-law. Are you jealous?
PPS- Katie, I had a horrible editing mistake on the last comment and could not stand looking at it, so I had to repost my comment.

ReplyDeleteHi Katie. Found your blog through Jane's. Your girls are adorable. I liked (didn't LOVE) Stephenie Meyer's books, but I like most kid fantasy stuff.
ReplyDeleteIf you want to read a really great Vampire themed novel (or just a great novel), try Elizabeth Kostova's "The Historian". She's an incredible writer.
dont read it
