Duly Noted

.
Today is Cal's 5-month birthday.

To celebrate, I spent the afternoon sorting photos from the day he was born.

This is the first picture we took when we arrived at the hospital, and certainly one of my favorites. When the elevator doors opened to the labor and delivery floor, we were warmly greeted.

By this.

First thought: Huh

Second thought: Really?

Third thought: Is there a reason you're telling me this?

I'm not saying it isn't important. I'm sure it's muy importante. I just think the sign might have been better placed in...say...an employee break room, rather than...say...the lobby.

But what do I know? Maybe someday this bit of information will prove useful (although I shudder to envision such a scenario).

Here is one of my other favorite pictures. A boy's first day.

Happy Birthday Cal. Te amo!

Estoy contenta no tiene la tina.

  1. I believe it is tiƱa. And I didn't know that word! Ringworm, who knew? I think the word of the day when we were there was "dolor" which means pain. It seemed apt at the time but I didn't take a pic which I see now I clearly should have done.

Cute pic of Cal and glad you had the cam handy.

  7. I don't care if I was in labor, if I saw a sign like that there is no way I would of sat in the chair there. But I love how Cal is laying on that pillow. It makes it look like he is property of Cottage Hospital. Love it.

  9. Is he just he cutest little boy in history? I was loving him on Skype today, even if he was mad. Should I be worried about getting ringworm when I come to St. Babs soon?

  13. Finally catching up on my blogs now that my funraiser is done. GRACIAS GOODNESS! Ahhhh, those pictures of my Leah, those Pictures, those pictures,
reminds me of a poem I once wrote:
    Stop the press!
    Be still my heart!
Send my dear Leah to Redlands
    or else......

    well, you know the rest

  14. Thought that Calvin needed a poem , too. Titled, "Calvin: so yummy I want to eat him"

If Calvin were a hot dog
I'd eat him, eat him up!
    If he were hot chocolate
I'd sip him from a cup
    If I were a druggie
I'd snort him through my nose
And if it didn't hurt him
    I'd nibble all his toes
If he were a tube of toothepaste
I'd brush my teeth all day
    But Calvin is a human
    And human he must stay
    So I'll have to settle
    With scrunching his sweet cheek
And so a job near Redlands
is what his daddy needs to seek!
