Beck or Biz?

.Saturday was the 47th anniversary of the Civil Rights March on Washington DC.
And like Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr., Jack and I both had a dream.

So,

Jack…

went to the Lincoln Memorial

and joined over 100,000 American activists

at Glenn Beck's "Restoring Honor" rally

And I...

took the kids

to "Yo Gabba Gabba Live."

featuring Biz Markie

We both had great seats at our respective events, which sparks an interesting debate.
Who would you rather have seen up close on Saturday,

Glenn Beck,

or Biz Markie?

Before making a hasty decision, please review the following arguments:

Glenn Beck: Take yourself back to the late 1700s, and consider the inspired beginnings of the United States. We are a nation founded upon principles of freedom, virtue, and faith in God, all of which Beck’s movement seeks to restore.

Biz Markie: Take yourself back to 1989, and consider this. Turn it loud my friends, and consider this.

  2. Jon will be so glad that Jack was there. Actually Jon will be really mad at me because a couple of months ago he seriously tried to talk me into going. Then he tried to convince me why he should go by himself. And then this weekend he pouted a little that he wasn't there.

I might not mention it to him that Jack went and that he could have slept on an air mattress on your floor! ;D

But I do have to say that I wouldn't have wanted to go to Yo Gabba Gabba either. They sort of scare me. And I still have nightmares about Charlie and the Chocolate Factory...

  3. Can I vote for the Smithsonian, even if it's the Smithsonian again?

  4. I don't know what's scarier, that Biz Markie is still entertaining (if you want to call it that) or that I had that song stuck in my head just last week, completely independent of your current outing.

One thing's for sure, D.C. is bringing you all some culture!

  5. I would just vote where I could be with those three kids in the glasses.

  6. I assume Jack did not tell his employer, that would be more of an "outing" than an outing.

And you already know where I would have been. Who can resist that singing voice?

  13. Can I just ask, how in the hello was Biz Markie ever famous? That song is awful and yet I remember listening to it over and over. Scary!

  14. Me thinks someone got the short end of the stick. Hint: It wasn't you.

  15. That's a no brainer! Biz all the way! So, after hearing about your adventures so far in DC... I change my vote! DC over Arizona. I'm giddy for you. :)

  16. We are HUGE Yo Gabba Gabba fans in this house. Whenever Davie hears the theme song he runs in front of the TV, wiggles his little diaper bum, and yells for "GABBA!!!" (This is even more impressive when you take into account that he only has ten or so words in his vocabulary.) So, ya, I know where we'd have been. And your kids' DJ Lance Rock glasses ARE AWESOME!

Hilarious. I know, I know, I'm not Mormon and barely even know you, but your blog is very good because of your witty sense of humor. This post is by far the most "funny".
