Who wants to play charades, again?

.
Cal does.

So much, that he was willing to inflict harm upon himself just to get a game going.

The category (we're assuming) is:
.
Literary Characters

Anyone?

By the way (just to preempt any inquisitive comments and/or calls to Child Protective Services), Yes. That gouge is the result of his overgrown fingernails. Which are the result of maternal neglect.

It's not that I'm lazy. It's just, if you think I'm going to take a steel clipping blade to such a moving little target, think again my friend.

  1. Katie,
It's Mitzie! I found your blog through Jane's facebook. I think you have the best blog I have ever read and I love your bow line. Well done! Your family is beautiful!

  2. He is a way cuter Harry Potter! Way to commit to the role Cal! Look at that intense stare, does he ever break character?

  3. He would need stitches to be called Franken------forget it---I can't bring myself to say that word about that precious face.

  4. Ah dang, someone beat me! He makes a cute lil Harry Potter. I have to agree that taking that sharp piece of metal to such a soft quick moving subject is not easy! Good luck with that.

  5. After I chopped the end of Rilie's thumb off with clippers, I never cut my kids nails again either. I figured self inflicted scratches were much better than me hurting them. He is ADORABLE by the way.

  6. hey hey- maybe you should put his bed under the stairs...

  7. Is he Edward Scissorhands?

Just put his ASU hat on him, it covers up half his head anyway!

  8. I have a good way of trimming fingernails without using the clippers. I will tell you about it next time I see you so that I don't write it and everyone things I'm weird!!!

  11. Dita Von Teese's male counterpart? The Gerber baby? Anything that resembles perfection, for sure.

  12. Yikes, kid! Harry Potter's not THAT cool. Besides, you're MUCH cuter than he is!

Poor little guy. Renny used to pick at his ear and make it bleed because I was so reluctant to use those clippers on him!

  13. Is he the cutest thing in the world or what?? Poor baby. Those nails will get you every time. I think Maia wore mittens til she was 3 or 4 months. You just can't cut those nails short enough and as often as they will let you.

  14. Just bite them! The nails, not the baby! I have the same issue with clipping baby fingernails, so I bite them.

Think about it, they aren't dirty!

  16. We have a cutting fingernail battle here constantly. It's a a job for the hubby - he's less intimidated and actually does a better job! I'm too paranoid I'm going to clip their little fingers and I don't dare disturb them while they are sleeping - its the ONLY time they're quiet! Ha! HA!

    What a cutie you have!

  17. You should probably wait a few years until introducing him to Edward Scissorhands. That wouldn't be pretty.

  18. Poor little guy!
The first time I was clipping Robby's nails I clipped a bit of his skin- he didn't even cry but I felt awful! I am terrified of cutting them. I wait as long as I can.

It would take a lot more than that to detract from his cuteness!

  19. Um. I am afraid to admit that I attempted to cut Beau's fingernails yesterday and it resulted in a cut finger. I felt like cutting off my hands so I would never do anything that stupid again.

Calvin, my dear, you are adorable. With or without the beauty mark you left on your forehead.

  20. So cute!!

I never trimmed my kids nails either when they were babies. But whenever we were at my parent's house they magically came home with trimmed nails!

  21. I would be freaked out to cut his nails too. He looks quite serious there doesn't he? I love it!

  22. I'd say Calvin looks like Mr. Magoo. When I'm lazy and don't want to trim fingernails I put little baby socks over their hands. Or, I just clip them while they are sleeping. Piece o' cake.
